Caucasian women speak about the constant barrage of images depicted on television, movies, and in advertisements and the effects of those images. The ladies also share their thoughts on women altering their physical appearance to compete in the corporate world (recorded August 2008).

Kristen Samuelson

Kristen Samuelson
Kristin Samuelson is a Midwest native who attended Truman State University in Missouri and now lives on the North Side of Chicago. She is the editorial coordinator for the Chicago Tribune editorial board and is currently taking classes at DePaul University toward a master's degree in digital film design. Outside of work, Kristin records studio vocals in Barrington and collaborates with a friend on original music. She loves dancing, laughing and spending time with her boyfriend, family, and friends.

 

Holly Schak

Holly Schak
Holly Schak grew up on Chicago's North Shore, but lived most of her adult life with her son in other states before returning to Chicago five years ago. Holly now works in human resources and Recruiting and she has had both personal and professional experience with eating disorders/body image issues. Her personal recovery from eating disorders came after many years of therapy and group programs and she is very grateful for the health and freedom she enjoys today after many decades of struggle.
