Urban Dolorosa - 263 Slain CPS School Children Memorialized 11/1
Dear Carol,
I am writing to invite you to respond to this very important Event, remembering 263 slain CPS School Children who were killed during the last three school years (2008-2011). This is an event which consists of five evenings of concerts at five historical churches in the City of Chicago. This event will also support and uphold the parents and families of these slain children. We are expecting over 1000 people in attendance. We would like to invite you to introduce one of the evening's programs as well as talk about Urban Dolorosa to your listening audience.
I know how busy you are and spoke to Braehon, who told us about the station's very busy last couple of weeks. I hope that you might have time to reveiw and respond to this information now.
Each evening's program (concert) will feature the following: original Music, the Johnson High School Prep Choir, Dramatization under the artistic direction of Steppenwolf for Young Adults, the Marimba Youth Players of Holy Cross / Immaculate Heart of Mary Spoken Word and a Vigil at each location.
Carol, we would like for you to help us draw the maximum amount of attention possible to the horrific waste of young lives and the remaining trauma that reverberates through the neighborhoods of this city. We are hoping that you will want to attend at least one of these programs, schedule permitting, as well as use your networks to inform others.
We are also in need of sponsors to make sure that the forty teens can receive a meal each evening and also to provide transportation for them to and from Johnson High School Prep for each of the five venues.
We welcome any input, suggestions or support that you might be able to provide. I am including a flyer and a press release for you to share or distribute as you wish. Please indicate which evening and venue that you would like to attend.
