Alpana’s Recommendations for Marsala Wine
- Cantine Pellegrino Marsala Superiore Ora Riserva: “The sweeter versions are excellent matches for the famous pastries of the region: cannoli and liqueur drenched cakes such as cassata.”
- Marco De Bartoli Vecchio Samperi “Ventennale”: "Nutty flavors similar to a sherry. It’s a sipping marsala, quite possibly the best one made in Sicily.”
Alpana’s Recommendations for Israeli Wines
- Golan Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 – Golan Heights $14: “A delicious Cab for “everyday” drinking.”
- Galil Mountain Yiron 2007 – Galil $22: “This is a splurge but well worth it. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot.”
- Flam Superiore Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon – Judean Hills $40: “The Flam brothers are quite possibly making the best wine in Israel. Outstanding!”
