Weekend Events Around Town: 9/09 – 9/11

Need some ideas for what to do this weekend? Chicago Tonight knows what is going on!

Ground Zero 360˚ at The Field Museum
Visit Ground Zero 360˚ at The Field Museum, an exhibit that tells the story of September 11th and the days that immediately followed, primarily from the perspectives of the police and firefighters who worked so hard after the tragedy. Photojournalist Nicola McClean put the exhibit together with her husband, Paul McCormack, who served as New York’s Police Commander of the 41st Precinct in the South Bronx during the tragedy. The exhibit’s title is derived from a large panoramic image McClean photographed at Ground Zero on September. The exhibit also features photographs of the missing, the personal effects of two men who gave their lives to save others, granite from the North Tower, and a piece of steel cut from a beam in one of the Twin Towers that visitors can touch. Read a web article and view photos from the exhibit. The exhibit is open Friday through Thursday. General admission ranges from $10 to $15, and the entire museum is free to police officers and firefighters of the City of Chicago.
