1) What is the No. 1 issue in your district and how would you address it?

From my experience in the campaign thus far I would say the #1 issue is the economy.

2) How would you promote job growth in your district?

We have to address the issue of free trade agreements that result in the importation of foreign made goods that could have been made here in this district and in this state and in this country.  None of the current major party candidates running for president in all these debates thus far has addressed the issue of these job stealing free trade agreements.

3) Should the federal government cut spending and where?

Yes, starting with ending the bogus "war on terrorism."  In my judgment this war is a criminal waste of American lives and money now approaching $3 trillion dollars.  By ending this phony war we can save in one year alone over $300 billion dollars.  I would also eliminate the Department of Homeland Security and shut down the hundreds of military bases we have scattered in 130 foreign countries. I also believe billions more can be saved by cracking down on the millions of illegal aliens helping themselves to free medical care, free public education, food stamps, and other tax supported benefits that should be reserved only for American citizens who are truly in need.

4) If Republican, which GOP presidential candidate do you support?

I am in general support of the foreign and economic policies of Ron Paul.

5) Give an example of something you’ve done that is bipartisanship in nature.

Running for office because I am not beholden to any particular party.  I consider myself a statesman rather than a "party man."  By that I mean that I will always stand for what I know to be true regardless of whether that truth comes from the Democrats, Republicans, or any other political party.

6) Name one good policy idea that comes from the opposing party.

Thus far the one good policy that President Obama and the Democrats have carried out is their avoidance of war with Iran.  How long this policy remains in effect is anybody's guess.

7) How do you define family values?

Family values are the accepted code of morality that is found in most families and that code of morality whether it is politically correct to say so or not is based on the precepts of the Christian religion that most Americans believe in.

8) What are your thoughts on the healthcare law?

Obamacare is a nightmare of thousands of pages of rules and regulations that should never have seen the light of day.  I have several proposed reforms on my website (www.artjonesforcongress.com) that if enacted can save billions of dollars while at the same time preserve for Americans the American system of private health care and freedom of choice of their health care providers.  These reforms stem from my 25 years as an independent health insurance broker.  I am to health insurance what Perry Mason is to law.

9) Who is your political role model?

Down through the years I have had several American political leaders that have inspired me.  On the Republican side I have admired Teddy Roosevelt, Joseph McCarthy, Patrick Buchanan, and Ronald Reagan.  On the Democratic side I was a great admirer of Governor George Wallace and Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of Georgia for her courage in standing up to the repressive apartheid regime of Israel.

10)  What’s on your iPod?

Nothing.  I don't have an iPod.
