The police victim information notice shows that the complaint was listed as “stalking-non-criminal.” Piszczor says police told her a criminal complaint could not be filed as long as Moody remained on a public street when he followed her.

Piszczor also says, “the police officer taking my complaint said to me, ‘what did you expect, going against Michael Madigan?’”

Later in the day, Piszczor says she got a call from retired firefighter Don Kato who told her Moody was stealing her campaign signs off front lawns and replacing them with Madigan signs. Kato says he got into a shouting match with Moody and police were called. Kato says he saw Piszczor signs in Moody’s car trunk, along with Madigan signs. Michele Piszczor says that this car belongs to Fred Moody.

According to Piszczor, the car in the photos belongs to Moody and was photographed at the location where the signs were taken.

A police spokesman told me Moody was relocated to the 8th District police station, but no charges were filed and Moody was released. According to the police spokesperson, they attempted to contact the homeowners where the signs were allegedly taken but could not reach them, so a complaint could not be filed.

Michael Madigan's spokesperson Steve Brown downplayed the incident, saying, "Police were called and looked into it, and nothing was going on. It sounds like another one of those self-inflicted situations."

Campaign signs were allegedly found in the car.But Piszczor remains furious over the loss of her signs.

“I only have 500 signs. Madigan has 15,000 signs. Every sign is precious,” she said. “How am I supposed to get signs out if they keep stealing them?”

There are six more days until next Tuesday’s  primary election.
