Simon Callow on "Being Shakespeare"

Celebrated British stage and film actor Simon Callow joins us on Chicago Tonight at 7:00 pm to discuss his new role in Being Shakespeare. The biographical play uses a combination of narration and extracts from Shakespeare's own works to tell the story of his life. The show, written by Jonathan Bate, directed by Tom Cairns and presented by Chicago Shakespeare Theater, is at the Broadway Playhouse from April 18-29.

The play is framed by Jaques's famous speech from As You Like It, as Bate takes us through the seven ages of William Shakespeare. It is also haunted by the presence of Old Hamlet's ghost; or perhaps by Shakespeare himself, asking us to remember him.
