Smokers in Illinois may have one more reason to quit. On Tuesday, the Illinois Senate approved a $1 cigarette tax increase by a 31 to 27 vote. On Friday, the Illinois House voted in favor of the measure, which now goes to Gov. Pat Quinn. The tax hike is expected to generate $350 million, which will be used for health care of Illinois' low-income residents.
