History Behind Pulaski Day

Today, Illinois observed Casimir Pulaski Day. The holiday is named for a Polish-born cavalry officer killed in the Revolutionary War. Chicago has one of the largest concentrations of Poles outside of Poland. We look back at a 2011 story from Paris Schutz about the history behind this holiday that's unique to Illinois.
