Chicago Sun-Times theater critic Hedy Weiss talks Chicago's Tony Award nominees and reviews Anything Goes, The Pianist of Willesden Lane and several other shows around town. She joins us on Chicago Tonight at 7:00 pm.
A number of plays with Chicago connections received exciting news today, as the 2013 Tony Award nominees were announced. Three members of Chicago-based Steppenwolf Theatre Company were recognized: both Amy Morton and Tracy Letts were honored for their performances in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, which received five nominations, and actress Laurie Metcalf was nominated for her leading role in The Other Place. Another Chicagoan, actress Carrie Coon, received a nomination for her performance in Virginia Woolf. For a full list of Tony nominations, click here.
