Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has released an initial budget for the next fiscal year, and in it she estimates a $152 million estimated deficit. The good news? This is the smallest projected budget gap since President Preckwinkle took office. However, Preckwinkle warns there are still tough choices ahead on the road to a balanced budget.
