Health Care Marketplace Costs

The Illinois health insurance marketplace has officially been named “Get Covered Illinois.” Starting on October 1, Illinois residents will be able to shop around for health care plans. Gov. Pat Quinn has released a few preliminary estimates of plan rates, saying plans in Illinois could be more than 25 percent lower than initial federal estimates. With the launch of the marketplace less than a week away, what do these estimates mean for uninsured and insured Illinois residents? Eddie Arruza breaks down some of the numbers with Jim Duffett, Executive Director of Campaign for Better Health Care, and Anthony LoSasso, Professor of Health Policy & Administration at UIC's School of Public Health.
