Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review: 11/22

On this edition of Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review with Eddie Arruza, 16 tornadoes cut through Illinois. On our panel is Chicago Sun-Times reporter Mark Brown, whose hometown of Washington, Illinois was hit hard, including serious damage to his sister’s home. Also, Gov. Pat Quinn signs Illinois’ same sex marriage bill, leading Springfield Bishop Thomas Paprocki to perform an exorcism to “undo the work of the devil.” The Ventra rollout is called a “systemic failure” by the RTA chief as he calls for an audit. Speed cameras issue 2,722 tickets in the first month, and though the revenue was supposed to go to children, it’s nowhere in the city budget. The Tribune Company cuts nearly 700 jobs nationwide. France warns its travelers about parts of Chicago, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel replies in character. And in sports, the Bears head for St. Louis after a stormy win in overtime.
