"Great Cities, Great Lakes, Great Basin"

It’s the earth’s largest freshwater resource. But what will happen in the next 100 years to the Great Lakes and the Great Water Basin? We talk with Phil Enquist, an Urban Designer, about sustainability, strategies, and about urban design aimed at eliminating waste and to ensure fresh water for future generations.

The storied architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has volunteered time to work on ideas to protect and restore the Great Lakes. Skidmore and the Chicago Architecture Foundation have teamed up to create a new exhibit called Great Cites, Great Lakes, Great Basin. The exhibition is now open in the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Atrium Gallery at 224 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and is free to the public.
