Luck of the Irish

The Next Theatre Company opens its doors this weekend to host a play about overcoming adversity. Luck of the Irish tells the story of an upwardly mobile African-American couple who wants to buy a home in an all-white neighborhood of 1950s Boston. Due to racism, they contrive a plan to infiltrate the neighborhood by paying a struggling Irish family to "ghost-buy" a house on their behalf. Fifty-two years later, the Irish family wants "their" house back. Luck of the Irish covers racial and class issues in society. The show runs through the end of February and tickets cost $40.
