Shift on Public Prayer


The Supreme Court handed down a landmark decision on May 5 in Town of Greece v. Galloway on the highly controversial issue of public prayer in civic settings. 

In a close vote, the majority upheld the right for religious prayer on public property. Justice Kagan wrote a strongly-worded dissent defending the rights of those in the religious minority. Is this decision an expansion of rights for communities or a policy that instills religious favoritism? We discuss with our panel tonight.
