Chicago's Human Trafficking
More than 200 girls were abducted from a boarding school in Nigeria, sparking national outrage. A leader of Boko Haram has threatened to sell the abducted girls “in the market.” While the nation rallies together to bring the girls back, nearly 25,000 women and girls fall victim to trafficking every year in Chicago. We discuss the mysteries of Chicago’s human trafficking with Sgt. William Leen of the Cook County Sheriff’s Vice Unit, The Dreamcatcher Foundation Executive Director Brenda Myers-Powell, and the Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Jack Blakey.
