Yoani Sánchez on the Cuban Regime

In 2007, a 30-year-old Cuban began a political blog called Generation Y that focused on what she said were the frustrations she felt with the situation in Cuba. Remarkably, Yoani Sánchez was not stopped by the Cuban authorities who have little tolerance for dissident views. She is now a global sensation and travels the world speaking out against the Cuban regime. We’ll talk with Sanchez on her first ever visit to Chicago. Sanchez will be speaking at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs' 13th annual Gus Hart Lecture. The event, Cuba Uncensored, will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 12 at the Standard Club.
