The Illinois Children's Mental Health Task Force found that nearly 50 percent of Chicago's inner-city teens demonstrated signs and symptoms of depression. As the city's mental health services have been slashed, several organizations and health care providers have teamed up to create Healthy Minds, Healthy Children, Healthy Chicago (H3)--a model designed to blend primary healthcare services with mental health care.
We hear from providers at the UI Health Mile Square Health Center in Englewood about the mental health needs of children in the community and how the new model works.
