Subpoenas Issued in Anti-Violence Investigation

Lawmakers Vote to Subpoena Former State Officials

A panel of lawmakers investigating Gov. Pat Quinn’s Neighborhood Recovery Initiative voted Monday, June 23, to subpoena seven former state officials connected to the now-defunct anti-violence program. But a day after approving those seven subpoenas, Democrats dropped two of them from the list. Elizabeth Brackett talks with State Sen. John Mulroe (D-Chicago) and State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) about the investigation.
