"Brigadoon" Revived

Lerner & Lowe Musical Re-Imagined for New Generation

Hot director Rachel Rockwell joins us to talk about reviving Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe's "Brigadoon," a fairy tale story of love in the Scottish Highlands. Rockwell worked with writer Brian Hill (who also joins us in studio) and the Lerner estate to tweak the book of the musical and update it for a new generation. "Brigadoon" was a breakthrough hit for Lerner & Lowe in 1947 and features the classic song "Almost Like Being in Love." They went on to write "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot."

Watch a montage of performances from the Goodman Theatre's rendition, "Brigadoon."
