Springfield News with Dave McKinney

Gov. Pat QuinnOfficials from the Justice Department have asked state lawmakers to delay having members of Gov. Pat Quinn's inner circle testify about an anti-violence initiative that has been tainted by scandal. According to the Republican co-chair of the state panel looking into the anti-violence program, officials from the Justice Department asked them to delay their inquiry for 90 days so that it does not interfere with a grand jury probe by federal investigators. That could create a nightmare scenario for the governor if the state investigation then starts hearing witness testimony just weeks before the Nov. 4 election.

Chicago Sun-Times Springfield Bureau Chief Dave McKinney gives us the latest on the story.
