Chicago Fashion Fest returns for its sixth season this Saturday and Sunday. The non-stop local fashion event will be held at Division and Damen. West Division Street will be shut down for the weekend. Within the Chicago Fashion Fest is the Chicago’s New Orleans Festival which will feature lots of Big Easy food and music, including a headline performance by Grammy award-winning Buckwheat Zydeco. A $5 donation is suggested to attend. The fest runs noon to 10:00 pm both days.

2014 Chicago Dancing Festival

Head to Millennium Park this Saturday for the last night of the annual Chicago Dancing Festival. Since the event started in 2007, thousands of viewers attend each year. Beginning at 7:30 pm on Saturday, the festival will feature performances by The Joffrey Ballet, The Julliard School, Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago and others. No tickets are needed for the finale event.

MuckFest MS Chicago

Rally for a good cause this weekend and participate in the first MuckFest MS Chicago.  Run, swing, slosh and climb your way through a 5K course filled with obstacles, muddy pits and trenches to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event will be held at 8:00 am on Saturday at Legacy Paintball & Airsoft Park. Day of registration will be available.

Settlement Sunday

Take a trip to Naperville this Sunday for the last Settlement Sunday.  Admission into the Naper Settlement Museum includes a do-it-yourself sundae bar, family activities, games, demonstrations, and tours of historic buildings. The Settlement Museum is open 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and the sundaes are served from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Cost is $8 for children, $10 for seniors, and $12 for adults.

Canal Corridor Caravan

Fill up your gas tanks and join the Canal Corridor Association in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor with a Canal Corridor Caravan. The two-day road trip through Corridor features 15 stops with mini tours of different historic sites. Stops include the Lockport Gallery of the Illinois State Museum, the Route 66 Welcome Center Drive Through and the Hogain Grain Elevator.  Participants can register online for the road trip and the specific stops they’d like to make. The two-day trip will begin in Lemont  on Saturday and the tour ends on Sunday with a mini tour of the Hegeler Carus Mansion.
