Obama to Arrive in Chicago Via Gary

President Obama will be in Chicago this evening through tomorrow. Paris Schutz has more on why he's here, and why he's not coming into O'Hare or Midway airports.

Gov. Pat Quinn is getting a high-profile campaign boost from President Obama, who is in town Wednesday and Thursday to attend fundraisers and give a speech at Northwestern University. However, Obama's homecoming will be slightly different this time. The president flew into Gary, Ind. on Air Force One Wednesday morning instead of O’Hare International Airport. The change was made following a weekend of flight delays and cancellations caused by a fire at an air traffic control center.

Obama is one of many high-profile campaigners scheduled to hit town in the next several days. The president’s visit comes on the heels of a recently released radio ad for the incumbent governor’s re-election campaign. Wednesday, First Lady Michelle Obama endorsed Quinn saying, “Barack and I are casting our votes for Pat Quinn.” Michelle Obama is scheduled to appear at a campaign event for Quinn on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
