Wild Travels Around the U.S.

The team behind Wild Chicago's unusual take on the Windy City takes its act on the road in a new show called Wild Travels, debuting on WTTW11 Saturday, Jan. 3 at 5:30 pm and Sunday, Jan. 4 at 10:35 pm. The show reunites host Will Clinger and executive producer Harvey Moshman for a unique tour of the United States.

“We’re back and bigger than ever!” said Clinger. He calls Wild Travels a natural progression from Wild Chicago, “a show that went off the beaten track to all the bizarre, unusual, interesting places and people all over the city. Now, we’ve just taken that and taken it nationwide.”

“We have been accumulating this kind of material for 20 years,” said Moshman. “I’m an inveterate clipper of odd stories. There’s a lot of material out there, but when we get to a town, we usually find two or three other pieces that we had no idea were there in the first place.”

Some of the places Wild Travels will take its audience include the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas, museums dedicated to atomic testing, mustard, and funerals, and the Rock in the House (not to be confused with the House on the Rock.)

Clinger describes hosting the show as a “the joy of my life. I enjoyed it back doing Wild Chicago, I enjoy it now, and to share it with other people…that’s the joy of it.”
