Park District Approves Public Land Transfer for Obama Library

The Chicago Park District voted to approve a plan for public parkland on the south side to be transferred to the city. The Chicago City Council will vote next month on Mayor Rahm Emanuel's ordinance which supports and allows the transfer of parkland to the city to build the Obama Presidential Library in either Washington or Jackson Park, if chosen by the Barack Obama Foundation.
