Last week, Cook County Circuit Court judge Rita Novak overturned a law reforming the pension system for labor and municipal employees. And this afternoon, she refused to delay the effect of that ruling despite the Mayor's plan to appeal. Unless that appeal succeeds, the city will be forced to find billions more in revenue to pay into the systems. Where will it get the money?

Joining us to discuss the city’s financial options are Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, a freshman who represents the 35th Ward; Ald. Brian Hopkins, who represents the newly-redrawn 2nd Ward; and Ald. Proco Joe Moreno, who’s represented the 1st Ward since 2010.
