Starting Friday, Pitchfork Music Festival returns to Union Park (1501 W. Randolph St.) with a lineup of more than 40 bands, including Beach House, Broken Social Scene, Sufjan Stevens, Brian Wilson (performing “Pet Sounds”), FKA Twigs and Miguel.

The best part? Single-day tickets ($65) are still available for all the locals who wanted to check the forecast before committing. (Psst: It’s not looking bad – check it out here.) 3 p.m. Friday; noon Saturday and Sunday. Get a three-day pass for $165.

The mobile gaming app that launched July 6 has taken the city and country by storm. Meet other players during the city's first meetup, organized by J. Samuel Guerrero, a 24-year-old Little Village native who created the Facebook group Chicago Pokemon Go as a way for his friends and co-workers playing the game to connect. A world music fest in Rogers Park features two stages of live music, plus food vendors, an arts and crafts market, art activities and more. Headliners include Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Los Vicios De Papa (Saturday); and Palenke Soultribe and Chicago Afrobeat Project (Sunday). 1-11 p.m. Saturday; 1-10 p.m. Sunday. Suggested donation: $5; $10 for families.

Southport Art and Music Fest (Saturday-Sunday)
Southport Avenue, from Waveland Avenue to Grace Street
Browse works by more than 75 local artists, including paintings, jewelry, sculpture, photography, glass and mixed media. Extras include live music and beer and food vendors. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free.

Chinatown Summer Fair (Sunday)
Wentworth Avenue, from Cermak Road to 24th Place
The 38th annual event features a lion dance procession, classical dance and music, local bands, martial arts displays, a marketplace, food vendors and activities for kids, including a petting zoo. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Free.

MSI After Hours: Brick Bash (Saturday)
Museum of Science and Industry,  5700 S. Lake Shore Drive
Check out the museum's new Lego exhibit "Brick by Brick" at this adults-only evening presented in partnership with WBEZ. Admission includes on-site parking, admission to "Brick by Brick" and other exhibitions, a live podcast taping of "General Admission" with certified Lego professional Adam Reed Tucker, plus snacks and one cocktail. Cash bar. 7-10 p.m. $30. 

Colombian Fest (Saturday-Sunday)
Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave.
Celebrate Colombian independence a little early (the country's declaration was signed on July 20, 1810) at this festival in Jefferson Park, billed as the Midwest's largest celebration of its kind. Dance to the sounds of cumbia, salsa, vallenato and other Colombian music from international and local musicians – including headliners Anibal Velasquez y Los Locos del Swing – and DJs. Extras: food vendors, arts and crafts, games and kids activities. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. $10; free for kids ages 12 and under with adult accompaniment; $17 for a two-day pass.

Ben Fest (Friday-Sunday)
Main entrance: 2215 W. Irving Park Road
The annual outdoor festival hosted by St. Benedict Parish includes live music, kids activities such as games, a water slide and sports challenges, a $10,000 raffle and – new in 2016 – a beer tasting featuring a half-dozen Lagunitas brews (advance tickets required). Headliners: Too White Crew (Friday), Sixteen Candles (Saturday) and Movement Revolution (Sunday). 4-10 p.m. Friday; 1-10 p.m. Saturday; 1-7 p.m. Sunday. $5 suggested donation; free for kids ages 5 and under. Additional fees for some activities.

Taste of WVON (Saturday)
Lorraine Dixon Park, 8701 S. Dauphin Ave.
The sixth annual family festival hosted by WVON-AM 1690 features live music from Morris Day and The Time, food and drink vendors, merchants and kids activities (from noon-6 p.m.) such as a petting zoo, pony rides and face painting. Additional bands: Outward Focus, The Emotions, ZZAJE and Ghalib Ghallab Jazz. Lawn chairs welcome. 10 a.m. to dusk. Free. Rain or shine.

Stihl Timbersports (Saturday-Sunday)
Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park
Just when you thought you'd seen it all: Lumberjack athletes show off their logging skills this weekend, demonstrating maneuvers such as the hot saw, standing block chop and underhand chop. The extreme sport was established in 1985, according to the German chainsaw manufacturer hosting the event. Watch professionals go at it on Friday night for a spot in Saturday's U.S. championships. Saturday will also feature the series' collegiate championship. 5-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 3:50 p.m. Free.
