News Analysis with Carol Marin
It appears Mayor Richard Daley is ready to run for reelection next year although he's yet to say so officially. Chicago Housing Authority Chief Terry Peterson announced today that he's taking a leave of absence to run Mayor Daley's re-election campaign. Bryan Monroe
In 1945, the late media pioneer John Johnson founded Ebony magazine and then Jet six years later. Johnson publishing is now the world's largest African-American owned and operated publishing company. This summer they created a new position they hope will take them into the future. That position is vice president and editorial director of Ebony and Jet magazines. The man who got the job Bryan Monroe is with us tonight.

West Side Coffee Express
In many Chicago-area communities there is no shortage of coffee shops. But that's not the case in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago's west side where residents say that up until now there's been no place to get a good cup of coffee and relax. That's changed with the opening of the Westside Coffee Express at 314 N Pulaski Rd. Eddie Arruza tells us how some local residents have taken matters into their own hands to offer hope as well as coffee, tea and doughnuts.

Kurt Elling
Kurt Elling was one credit short of finishing Divinity School at the University of Chicago when he heard a calling. 14 years, thousands of performances, and 6 Grammy nominations later, Elling is at the top of the jazz world – and he has yet to finish that degree. Kurt joins us live in the studio to talk about his amazing career and perform a couple of songs. He is also appearing at the Chicago Jazz Festival this coming weekend.
