Boris Godunov
In Modest Mussorgsky’s iconic opera, bass vocalist Ferruccio Furlanetto portrays the troubled titular role of the Czar. He is not only plagued by his past, enemies abound and threats to his throne, but also by his people’s poverty and starvation. The production is a thrilling representation of Czarist Russia, replete with excesses of opulence and sorrow; Boris is a poignant portrait of a tormented man in the public eye who eventually falls prey to his own psyche. Tickets range from $49 - $224.
