Starring (and written by) Emmy Award winner Holland Taylor of Two and a Half Men, Ann tells the story of former Texas Governor Ann Richards. It is a revealing and multifaceted portrait of Richards’ life, as well as a stirring and inspirational story. Learn more about Ann. Tickets range from $20 to $85. The Jackie Wilson Story
The Black Ensemble Theater will inaugurate its newly constructed stage this Friday with the revival of The Jackie Wilson Story, the 2000 production which first brought national attention to the theater, and a national tour and recognition for its star, Chester Gregory. The original play was written and directed by the pioneering founder of the Theater, Jackie Taylor. The show is a music-filled story of the life of Detroit-based singer Jackie Wilson, whose hits included ''Lonely Teardrops'' and ''Higher and Higher,'' spanning styles from blues to Motown. The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival
You don’t need to wait until Thanksgiving to get your holiday season in gear! The 20th Annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival features day-long activities to delight the entire family. Start out at Lights Festival Lane, featuring live performances by popular artists, holiday booths, games, and of course, photos with Santa. The Festival culminates with the Lighting Procession, where Grand Marshals Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World® will illuminate more than one million lights along The Magnificent Mile. The parade will also include more than 30 floats, marching bands, celebrity appearances, balloons, more Disney characters, and the guest of honor, Santa Claus. The parade's grande finale is a fireworks display along the Chicago River.

School of the Art Institute Holiday Art Sale
Get a head start on your holiday shopping at this annual event at the School of the Art Institute, where students display and sell items they’ve been diligently creating all year long. The sale will feature photography, paintings, prints, sculptures, jewelry, wearable art and other works by young artists on the rise. The students receive the majority of their total sales. Millennium Park Ice Skating
Millennium Park ice skating is here for the season! Skate under the shadow of the Bean and grab a hot cocoa during the rink’s eleventh season. The rink is free and open to the public, but skates can also be rented for $10. The rink will be open from November 18, 2011 through March 11, 2012. Check in advance for holiday hours.
