2) How would you promote job growth in your district?

Form an active committee made up of committed members from Illinois Dept of Labor, local schools, colleges and universities, major employers, small businesses, unions and churches who would travel round the district. They would meet with the jobless in small groups to discuss and advise them how and where to look for existing vacancies, what capabilities they need to find decent jobs. They would also work with the local technical colleges and major employers on setting up retraining programs, paid for by prospective employers, for the jobless to fill the growing demand for higher tech positions. Those trained could fill entry level positions, allowing existing employees with higher skills to be promoted inside the company, thus expanding capacity and allowing expansion of the company as the overall economy grows.

3)  Should the federal government cut spending and where?

The Government should stop the war in Afghanistan and bring the troops home from there and the Middle East. It should reduce the waste in the Department of Defense and other Government Departments. The money saved by these actions should be sufficient to pay for the expansion of civilian employment inside America    . Higher employment means higher tax income for local, state and federal authorities and a return to stability for the middle class.

4)  If Republican, which GOP presidential candidate do you support?

None of them!

5)  Give an example of something you’ve done that is bipartisanship in nature.

I was an active member of a committee to elect a Republican as Village President.

6) Name one good policy idea that comes from the opposing party.

They do not appear to have any policies other than trashing our President. That is why the current economic difficulties are slow in turning around. Gridlock is an unacceptable policy.

7) How do you define family values?

The Family is the heart of our communities. Its members must be taught to respect the lives of others. They must be taught not to hate others because of their political, religious, or life style beliefs. Their creed should be “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

8)  What are your thoughts on the healthcare law?

Healthcare should be expanded to a single payer system with coverage for all.

9)  Who is your political role model?

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

10) What’s on your iPod?

An eclectic mix of Opera and Classical through Rock and Roll to Heavy Metal.
