Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review: 8/2

On this edition of Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review with Joel Weisman at 7:00 pm, lawmakers file a lawsuit against Gov. Pat Quinn after he withholds their paychecks due to their inability to pass pension reform. Chicago’s budget deficit could balloon to more than a billion dollars if the pension system isn’t overhauled. Illinois becomes the 20th state to legalize medical marijuana. A possible change to the state fire code requiring sprinklers in high-rises built before 1975 sparks controversy. Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. refuses to apologize for inflammatory remarks he made in Florida after George Zimmerman’s not-guilty verdict. And in sports, the Bears stage a fan-friendly training camp practice at Soldier Field.
