This week on Chicago Tonight, Eddie Arruza took us inside the World’s Fair of Money at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. However, those who are interested in checking out the cash in person can browse over $1 billion in historic rare coins and paper money, including a $100 bill that has not been released yet, during the final two days of the convention this weekend. Whether you're a coin enthusiast, or a convention novice, there's a fascinating exhibit for everyone to enjoy. Topics featured in a wide range of collector's exhibits this year include Money in Early America, Morse Code on Money, The Evolution of the English Penny, Disney Dollars: A Selection of Scrip From the Magic Kingdom, and much more. Auctions take place all weekend long, and new coin collectors can attend a free coin collection basics class at 11:00 am on Saturday. The convention takes place on August 16 and 17. Public hours are from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Friday, August 16, and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 17. Tickets are $6 for non-members, and are free for American Numismatic Association members. This weekend, check out One World: Make a Difference, the newest aquatic show at the Shedd Aquarium. The performance gives the audience an up-close look at how sea lions, dolphins and beluga whales at the Shedd are cared for every day by their trainers. However, the show doesn't solely feature creatures of the sea. Celebrating human connections with all animals, three rescue dogs named Dory, Bruce, and Coral will also take the stage during One World. During the performance, narrated videos that spotlight Shedd’s rescue and rehabilitation work alternate between animal interactions with trainers. This weekend, shows take place on Friday and Saturday at 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 5:30 pm. On Sunday, shows take place at 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm. A Shedd pass costs $28.95 for adults and $19.95 for children. Adding an additional $5 to your Shedd pass grants attendees admission to the show. For more information, click here.
