Republican Illinois gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner, a venture capitalist, gave more than $13 million to education and civic causes over the last three years through the Rauner Family Foundation, according to a campaign spokesman.

The campaign spokesman did not provide information regarding charitable contributions by Rauner’s running mate, Evelyn Sanguinetti.

Treasurer and gubernatorial candidate Dan Rutherford gave approximately $1,500 to charity, campaign spokesman Brian Sterling said of Rutherford’s charitable contributions from his 2012 tax return.

Rutherford's running mate Steve Kim and his wife contribute $10,000 a year to charity, with some of the funds going to a Korean church Kim attends, as well as to the Wounded Warrior Project, Sterling added.

Sen. Bill Brady, who's running for governor, and his wife reported $5,432 in charitable contributions on their last tax return, according to Brady for Governor Inc. General Manager Dan Egler.

Brady's running mate, Maria Rodriguez, and her husband reported $15,408 in charitable contributions, Egler said.

During the post-forum news conference following the GOP Governor Forum, Sen. Kirk Dillard responded to Chicago Tonight’s request for information about his charitable contributions.

Dillard said he donated thousands of dollars to his church, as well as DePaul University and Western Illinois University.

Chicago Tonight is awaiting response from Dillard’s campaign about the charitable contributions of his running mate, Jil Tracy.
