Wet Start to Summer Does Little to Dampen Growth in WTTW Garden

The unseasonably wet start to the summer has done little to dampen growth in the WTTW garden. The Organic Gardener Jeanne Nolan is back with an update from our vegetable patch and some answers to viewer questions.

It’s official. This past June has been the wettest June in recorded state history, beating the previous record set in 1902. Through Saturday, the statewide average rainfall total for June was 8.91 inches, topping the previous record of 8.27 inches in 1902. Despite all of this rain, our garden has thrived, producing a bountiful harvest. Watch a video of Phil Ponce and Jeanne Nolan talk about how our crops are doing and which ones we’ve harvested.
