Possible Hike in Chicago Property Taxes

According to a Crain's Chicago Business analysis, Chicago police and fire pensions could drive up property taxes by more than 30 percent. Crain’s senior reporter Thomas A. Corfman joins us to explain the analysis.

An excerpt from the Crain's story states:
Emanuel plans to disclose how he will pay for the increased pension contribution in September, when he releases his proposed 2016 budget. His spokeswoman declines to comment for this report. But during a recent interview on [Chicago Tonight] Emanuel said, "I have been upfront that revenue is part of the solution, but the Chicago taxpayers will not be an ATM machine for solving all our issues."
