Thousands of Chicago public school teachers and supporters took to the streets Friday for a one-day strike. Pickets and protests were held all around the city.

The events culminated with a massive rally downtown where demonstrators filled the Thompson Center plaza, spilling into street before marching through the Loop.

Meantime, Chicago Public Schools filed a formal complaint saying the walkout was illegal and demanding that CTU leadership pay for the expenses incurred by schools, libraries, and parks that hosted students with nowhere else to go.

Eddie Arruza and his guests talk about the strike and other big news on this week’s edition of the Week in Review.
