This traveling exhibition explains why Chicago is known not just only as the Windy City but also “America’s candy capital.” Created by the Elmhurst Historical Museum, the exhbit takes on a Greek twist with the NHM’s collection of candy, ice cream and restaurant artifacts that showcase Chicago’s Greek-owned candy shops and businesses. Times vary. $7-$10; free for museum members and children under age 3.

Buckingham Fountain won't be flowing with beer, but the suds will spill forth as more than 100 American craft breweries serve samples of more than 200 brews on the fountain's grounds. Live music and food from local restaurants will be served up, too. Partial proceeds benefit the Grant Park Conservancy. 6-10 p.m. Friday; 2-6 p.m. Saturday. $50; $25 designated driver tickets available.

See Second City alumna Jane Lynch as she returns to Chicago for her musical comedy cabaret show. Black Joe Lewis, King Khan and the Shrines, Langhorne Slim, Waxahatchee and Broncho highlight the two-day music fest with an environmental edge. Three stages of music (including one that is people-powered), food and drink vendors, games for kids, and arts and crafts are also featured, plus free bike parking for those who power themselves to the event. Place Lab and the Black Cinema House host this screening and conversation with Ronit Bezalel about her documentary on the demolition of the Cabrini Green public housing complex. The film and discussion will explore gentrification and other social issues and kicks off a year-long film series called “Moving Images, Making Cities” that explores the complexities of transforming neighborhoods. 4-6 p.m. Free.
