Chicago Women’s Funny Festival (through Sunday)

Celebrate local women in comedy as dozens of individuals and groups perform dozens of shows ranging from stand-up to sketch and musical sketch to storytelling, cabaret and improv. Times vary. $15 for individual shows. Daily pass prices vary. $100 weekend pass.

This traveling exhibition explains why Chicago is known not just only as the Windy City but also “America’s candy capital.” Created by the Elmhurst Historical Museum, the exhbit takes on a Greek twist with the NHM’s collection of candy, ice cream and restaurant artifacts that showcase Chicago’s Greek-owned candy shops and businesses. Times vary. $7-$10; free for museum members and children under age 3.

Fiestas Puertorriquenas (through Sunday)
Humboldt Park at Division Street and California Avenue
Celebrate Puerto Rican culture at the 34th annual event featuring music, food, arts and crafts, community booths, carnival rides and more. 3 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon-10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

Chicago Ale Fest (through Saturday)
Grant Park
Buckingham Fountain won't be flowing with beer, but the suds will spill forth as more than 100 American craft breweries serve samples of more than 200 brews on the fountain's grounds. Live music and food from local restaurants will be served up, too. Partial proceeds benefit the Grant Park Conservancy. 6-10 p.m. Friday; 2-6 p.m. Saturday. $50; $25 designated driver tickets available.

See Second City alumna Jane Lynch as she returns to Chicago for her musical comedy cabaret show. The Golden Globe-winning actress is joined by Kate Flannery from “The Office” and “Glee” vocal coordinator Tim Davis for a tour of music ranging from “Fiddler on the Roof” to Willie Nelson and Nicki Minaj. 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Prices vary.

Taste of Randolph (through Sunday)

The food-and-music fest celebrates its 20th birthday with more than 20 local restaurants, two stages of live music and a DJ stage. Music highlights include Atlas Genius and The Motet (Friday); Devotchka (Saturday); and Peter Bjorn and John (Sunday). Windy City Lake Shake Festival (through Sunday)
FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island
Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw headline this country music festival on the lake. Check out the full lineup. 3-11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Prices vary.

Brew to Be Wild (through Saturday)
Lincoln Park Zoo
Let out your wild side with this tasting event at the zoo. More than 75 specialty brews from over 35 local and regional breweries will add to the close encounters with the zoo’s animals. Lawn games, music and food are included. 6-11 p.m.; VIP access includes 5 p.m. entry. $49-$89.

Chicago Pride Fest (through Sunday)
3200 N. Halsted St.
Celebrate the LGBTQ community in the heart of Boystown at this two-day lead-in to next weekend's Pride Parade. Music highlights include Jordin Sparks (Friday) and Daya and Dumblonde (Saturday). 11 a.m.-10 p.m. $10 suggested donation.

Irving Park Road, Milwaukee Avenue and Cicero Avenue
Mouth-watering barbecue and live music await in Portage Park this weekend. Serving up the eats are BBQ King Smokehouse, Porkchop, Robinson’s Ribs and other local and national vendors. Wrestling matches, arts and crafts and activities for kids round it out. 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday; 11 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. $5 suggested donation.

Green Music Fest (through Sunday)
Damen Avenue between North Avenue and Schiller Street
Black Joe Lewis, King Khan and the Shrines, Langhorne Slim, Waxahatchee and Broncho highlight the two-day music fest with an environmental edge. Three stages of music (including one that is people-powered), food and drink vendors, games for kids, and arts and crafts are also featured, plus free bike parking for those who power themselves to the event. Noon-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $5 suggested donation.

Flea Market and Craft Fair
Bosley Playground Park, 3044 S. Bonfield St.  
This park in the Bridgeport community will host a family-friendly arts and crafts fair open to all ages. Free. 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Celebrate dad this weekend with various Father’s Day activities around Chicago. Take your Dad to 6 Corners BBQ Fest (see above). Spirit Cruises is offering Father’s Day boat rides on Lake Michigan. Place Lab and the Black Cinema House host this screening and conversation with Ronit Bezalel about her documentary on the demolition of the Cabrini Green public housing complex. The film and discussion will explore gentrification and other social issues and kicks off a year-long film series called “Moving Images, Making Cities” that explores the complexities of transforming neighborhoods. 4-6 p.m. Free. Flight of the Conchords
Millennium Park
The New Zealand-based comedy duo featuring Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement visits Millennium Park this Father’s Day to share their latest music act that is sure to elicit a laugh (or two or three). 7 p.m. $25-$55.

The Lumineers
Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State Street
As part of the Cleopatra World Tour, this folk-rock band from Denver hits the stage on State Street. You might know them from their hit song and first single, “Ho Hey.” 7 p.m. $25-$45.
