CPS Students Get Free Admission to 3 Museums Monday

Chicago Public School students can kick off their last week of freedom at one of several Chicago institutions.

The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium are offering free admission to all CPS students and an accompanying adult on Monday. School starts for CPS high school and elementary students on Sept. 6.

In addition, the museums offer various discounts on higher-priced tickets and access to exclusive exhibits. Details follow.

When: Monday and Tuesday
Where: Shedd Aquarium
What: CPS student(s) and an accompanying adult get free general admission that includes access to the aquarium exhibits such as Waters of the World, Caribbean Reef and Amazon Rising. The offer is also open to all Illinois residents with a valid ID.

Students can purchase a discounted “experience” pass ($9) for access to aquatic presentations such as Stingray Touch. Non-CPS students who are state residents can also take advantage of the deal by purchasing a $15 discounted pass.

What: CPS student(s) and accompanying adult can upgrade to the Discovery pass or All Access pass at discounted rates for adults ($13-$20); students and seniors ($11-$17); and kids ages 3-11 ($9-$14). The deal applies to Illinois residents, also.

What: Visitors can upgrade to an All Access pass at discounted rates for adults ($18) and kids ages 3-11 ($17).
