Watch ‘La La Land,’ ‘Hidden Figures’ in Millennium Park This Summer

Make Tuesday movie night this summer. Pack lawn chairs, grab some popcorn and snacks and head to Millennium Park, where free movie screenings begin in June.

The city of Chicago’s annual Summer Film Series kicks off Tuesday, June 13 with the 1980 Chicago classic “The Blues Brothers.”

New this year: a Spanish-language film presentation of “El Norte” on July 11.

The city will host a special “Full Moon Double Feature” on Tuesday, Aug. 8 with screenings of the 1990 classic “Ghost,” featuring Patrick Swazye and Demi Moore followed by the 1980 thriller “The Shining,” with Jack Nicholson.

In honor of the 80th anniversary of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the city will host a special daytime screening of the 1937 film at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24.

All other movies will be screened at 6:30 p.m. on a 40-foot LED screen, and guests can either sit in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or set up camp on the Great Lawn. The series is held on Tuesdays from June 13 through Sept. 5.
