Blair Kamin’s First Impressions of the Obama Library Plans


Chicagoans got their first look Wednesday at plans for the Obama Presidential Center.

The former president and first lady say that they want the project to be "transformational" for Jackson Park and the South Side. They hope to create a setting that becomes a go-to destination on the South Side to rival Millennium Park in the Loop.

One man on hand to witness the unveiling of the conceptual design was Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune Blair Kamin. He joins host Phil Ponce to discuss his first impressions of the design.
