The Cubs bats have been cold. Ice cold. Not just in this series, but for the entire postseason.
Despite winning the divisional series against the Washington Nationals three games to two, the Cubs are hitting only .162 as a team, including the two games against the Dodgers.
They are down two games to none in the best-of-seven series, and will have to get back on track against a tough pitcher, the Dodgers’ 6-foot-5-inch hurler Yu Darvish. On the mound for the Cubs is ace righty Kyle Hendricks, who struggled a bit in his last game against the Nationals.
The Cubs also hope their day off Monday restored their beleaguered bullpen, as former starter John Lackey gave up the walk-off three-run home run to the Dodgers’ Justin Turner on Sunday night.
The weather shouldn’t be a factor Tuesday. The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s and 70s for most of the day, falling into the 50s at night.
