Mayor Rahm Emanuel starts the media rounds in his re-election kickoff, blasting President Donald Trump on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and trying to shrug off voter memories of school closings and the controversy over the police shooting of Laquan McDonald. Meanwhile, Garry McCarthy, then Chicago’s police superintendent who said the shooting of McDonald was justified, according to records, considers a run against his former boss.
