‘Too Hot to Handel’: Jazz-Gospel ‘Messiah’ Reaches into State Prisons


Since 2006, “Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah” has brought together an eclectic group of Chicago performers to celebrate community in advance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

And for the second year in a row, this weekend’s performances will be livestreamed to correctional facilities in Illinois and beyond.
