Emanuel’s Aldermanic Friends, Foes React to Bombshell Announcement

Some supporters of Emanuel have been appointed committee chairs by the mayor, including Ald. Joe Moore, 49th Ward, while some critics, such as Ald. Scott Waguespack, 32nd Ward, have been targeted by political action committees funded by the mayor’s allies.

How are the mayor’s friends and foes in City Hall responding to the news that he will not seek a third term?

Joining us to give their varying perspectives: Ald. Pat O’Connor, 40th Ward, who serves as the mayor’s City Council floor leader; Ald. George Cardenas, 12th Ward; Ald. David Moore, 17th Ward; and Ald. Scott Waguespack, 32nd Ward.
