According to Chicago Police Department data, 20 people were shot in 17 separate shooting incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. That included a triple homicide following a fight at a bar in the 5500 block of West School Street.

Police Commander Joseph Brennan on Sunday said an incident inside that bar spilled out onto the street at around 2:30 a.m., at which point a man opened fire, killing a 50-year-old man, 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman, before he fled in a dark SUV.

A 25-year-old woman was also shot in the head and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Brennan said police are interviewing witnesses and pulling surveillance video from the area, but no one is currently in custody.

On Friday, a 36-year-old man was killed in the 0-100 block of West 40th Street. He was standing on the sidewalk at around 8:15 p.m. when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest. He later died at a local hospital.

A woman was killed as she drove just after 1 a.m. Saturday in Logan Square. Police said the victim crashed into a dumpster after being shot at, and her vehicle caught fire. She was pronounced dead on scene.

A 32-year-old man was killed Saturday while he was in an alley in the 0-100 block of West 105th Street. He was outside when someone began shooting at him, striking him in the chest and face. He died on scene.
