‘Kicking It Curbside’ Music Series Offers Free Shows at Tack Room in Pilsen

What could be better on a summer night than relaxing on a patio and listening to live music with a cocktail in hand? If that sounds good to you, then grab a folding chair and your dancing shoes and head out to Tack Room at Thalia Hall on Wednesday nights for the free live music series “Kicking It Curbside.”

“It came out as a concept for the pandemic,” said Bobby Ramirez, talent buyer for Thalia Hall. “When we couldn’t do shows inside, we started putting bands on the patio so people could gather safely outdoors in the fresh air. We got so much positive feedback from it that we decided to just keep it rolling year after year.”

Ramirez said anyone is invited to enjoy the music from the sidewalk patio, or they can dine or drink at the Tack Room.

“We want to find as many ways to present music and platform artists that we’re excited about as possible,” Ramirez said. “The ‘Kicking It Curbside’ series allows us to also find more ways to present local music in a free setting so that there’s no barrier to entry.”

“Kicking It Curbside” sets run from 7-9 p.m. at the Tack Room. It’s free to attend; the venue is open to all ages.
