Find your next read at the 38th annual Printers Row Lit Fest. The two-day festival features books from more than 100 booksellers. You’ll find everything from rare finds to new releases — plus author talks, panel discussions and book signings. This year’s headliners are Toluse Olorunnipa and Robert Samuels, winners of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction.

Sample diverse dumplings from 15 Chicago-area restaurants at the World Dumpling Fest. Offerings include bao, empanadas, pierogi, samosas and more. Live music and dance performances round it out.

3. Move
The Chicago Parks Foundation is hosting its inaugural Run for the Parks: 5K Run, Walk or Roll. The morning kicks off with a 5K and wraps up with a post-race pancake party complete with DJ and refreshments.
Details: 8 a.m.-noon Sunday at Burnham Park at 31st Street Beach, 3155 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive. $40 for 5K entry and post-race party; $20 for a party-only ticket / MAP

Have an item you can’t identify? Field Museum’s ID Day is back after a pandemic hiatus. Scientists will help you identify rocks, bones, meteorites, artifacts, seashells and fossils. Photos of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and insects are also welcome — so long as you don’t bring actual animals. Don’t have anything to ID? Stop by anyway. The museum will have specimens on display, and basic admission is free to all Illinois residents.

5. Discover
The 18th annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts showcases more than 150 artists with paintings, photography, sculptures and jewelry. Original pieces will be for sale. Expect live demonstrations, entertainment stages and family activities.
Details: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with live music into the night along Broadway from Belmont Avenue to Hawthorne Place. Free / MAP
