Chicago police are searching for at least three groups of men they believe are responsible for more than two dozen armed robberies that occurred over a five-day span earlier this month.

The Chicago Police Department this week published surveillance footage of the three groups in hopes that community members could recognize them and provide information leading to their arrests.

The first group, which is believed to be four or five men between the ages of 18 and 30, is believed to have committed 14 separate armed robberies between March 14-16. In those incidents, police said, the men threatened or hit the victims with a handgun before taking their property and fleeing.

According to police, this group is responsible for the following robberies:

• 2600 Block of West Fletcher Avenue, on March 14, 2024, at 7:41 p.m.
• 1600 Block of North Linder Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 6:05 a.m.
• 1700 Block of North Lotus Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 6:10 a.m.
• 4200 Block of West Armitage Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 6:15 a.m.
• 2300 Block of North Springfield Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
• 2800 Block of North Harding Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 10:20 a.m.
• 2300 Block of North Lawndale Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 10:33 a.m.
• 2000 Block of North Campbell Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 11:50 a.m.
• 2600 Block of North Mozart Street, on March 16, 2024, at 12:03 p.m.
• 3000 Block of North Spaulding Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 12:07 p.m.
• 4800 Block of West Hutchinson Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 1:14 p.m.
• 2900 Block of North Ridgeway Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
• 3700 Block of West George Street, on March 16, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
• 2700 Block of North Lawndale Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 1:40 p.m.

The CPD on Wednesday released footage of the second group of alleged armed robbers, who police believe are responsible for 13 separate incidents.

During these incidents, police said, the group of three or four males approached their victims, brandished firearms and demanded their personal property.

Police said these incidents occurred on the following dates and locations:

• 1100 block of North Kostner Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 3 a.m.
• 2500 block of West Madison Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 3:40 a.m.
• 2100 block of North Kimball Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 3:44 a.m.
• 1600 block of North Keating Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 4 a.m.
• 1100 block of North Pulaski Road, on March 12, 2024, at 4:25 a.m.
• 4200 block of West Grand Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 10 a.m.
• 1500 block of West Cortez Street, on March 14, 2024, at 12 p.m.
• 2600 block of South Pulaski Road, on March 16, 2024, at 4:15 am.
• 2800 block of South Lawndale Avenue, on March 16, 2024, at 4:15 a.m.
• 1000 block of North Pulaski Road, on March 16, 2024, at 4:19 a.m.
• 3500 block of West 26th Street, on March 16, 2024, at 4:20 a.m.
• 4400 block of West Cortez Street, on March 16, 2024, at 4:41 a.m.
• 4300 block of West Division Street, on March 16, 2024, at 5:45 a.m.

Police also issued a notice Wednesday about a third group believed to have committed four more armed robberies across the morning hours of March 12 on the Northwest Side. The CPD believes these robberies were committed by four males between the ages of 15 and 20.

Police said these incidents occurred on the following dates and locations:

• 2100 block of North Kimball Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 3:44 a.m.
• 1500 block of North Laramie Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 4 a.m.
• 3400 block of West Cortland Street, on March 12, 2024, at 4:02 a.m.
• 4200 block of West Grand Avenue, on March 12, 2024, at 10:54 a.m.

The number of armed robberies reported thus far across Chicago in 2024, is up approximately 5% over the same time last year. But according to CPD data, the number of such incidents reported between late February and late March is up 20% compared to that same period in 2023.
